This natural side of Aphrodite seem to fit to the natural nudity and water jug depicted in the statue. Also the more complex abilities and powers the goddess has, such as the power to harmonize a society, not just in the personal sphere but also the public and civic sphere, shows her dominance and exceptional power that would permeate through her self-conscious nude stance and aligns herself now with the dominant heroic nude males in statue, illustrating that women in statue could now be idealized in more than just the way of victims or property.

New research suggests that art might have been imitating life more closely than previously thought. Nudity was a costume used by artists to depict various roles of men, ranging from heroicism and status to defeat. Men strode about free of their togas in the bedroom and at parties called symposia, where they would eat, drink and carouse.
